Erté was a Russian artist who influenced graphic illustration, fashion, and theatre through his illustrative covers for Harper's Bazaar, legendary costumes, and elaborate theatre sets. The three doll boxes are a tribute to his life and work, with each resembling a miniature theatre. My design was influenced by his fashion illustrations and my own love for swirling patterns and color. I hand-painted the dolls to look like his illustrated figures, complete with costumes inspired by his fashion sketches.
